Terms and Conditions

All members agree in full to the Terms and Conditions below. These may vary from time to time. Changes to the Club rules require approval at a General Meeting.

General Terms

All members agree to abide by the Rules and Byelaws, Sailing Instructions and all other current policies of the Club, such as the Safeguarding Policy. These documents are available on the Club Documents page.

All members agree to the following:

  • I am/we are aware that publicity photographs of members, including children, may be taken during Club activities, that the photographs are only used for promotion of the Club and that they may be used in publications about the Club.
  • I am/we are aware that parents/guardians remain responsible at all times for the safety and actions of their children and vulnerable adults.
  • I am/we are aware that property is left at the Club at my/our own risk.
  • I/we understand that by submitting a new membership application, or by renewing an existing membership, I/we consent to receiving information about the Club by post/email/ phone messaging and that my/our details may be stored in MyClub dot Run for the purposes of Duties, Sailing and Membership Management. Private member data will not be shared with any other third-party and all principles of The Data Protection Act 2018 (GDPR) followed.

Boat Insurance

Important  Before bringing boats to the Club, members must have valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £3,000,000 for each boat. Non compliance may result in disciplinary action.

Boat Parking

The Club reserves the right to reallocate parking or move boats as it deems necessary in the best interests of the Club and to comply with the terms of its Lease from the Canterbury City Council.

Abandoned Boats

Where a Boat parking or storage fee is a month or more in arrears any boat or trailer parked on club premises will be treated as an abandoned or unauthorised and its removal will be requested in writing. Where the owner fails to remove the boat, the Club may sell the boat/trailer to recover any monies due to the Club.
